Rename a group, change its size, change how many times each team plays, or delete it and its matches.

A football group can be renamed, resized, and deleted. Only the tournament Owner and an Administrator can do any of it.

Everyone else is sent to the tournament's public page, which has no Format tab.

Editing a group

  1. Open the tournament and select Format. Each group's header carries an edit control and a delete control.

A group header outlined, showing the edit and delete controls to the right of the group name.

  2. Select Edit. Change the Name, the Number of teams, or both.

The Edit group dialog with a Name field, a Number of teams field and an Encounters field.

  3. Open Encounters to choose how many times each team plays the others in the group.

The Encounters list open, offering "Play all teams in pool once" and the numbers 2 to 10.

  4. Select Save.

Deleting a group

  1. Select the delete control on the group's header.

  2. Read the confirmation. Deleting a group deletes its matches too.

The Delete group dialog asking whether to delete this group and all its matches.

  3. Select Delete.

Removing one team instead

Deleting a group takes every team in it. To take one team out and leave the group standing, use the team's own menu.

A team's menu open on the board, offering Edit, Add Owner and Remove team.

If it does not work

  • Number of teams will not go below what is in the group. Remove the teams you do not want first, then resize.

  • Encounters changed and the fixtures did not. The fixture list is rebuilt from the group. Check the Schedule tab after saving.

  • Delete is not there. Padel groups have no delete control. Removing a padel group means deleting the format - see "Editing a group in a padel tournament".

  • You have no edit or delete controls at all. You are not the Owner or an Administrator of this tournament.
