You create a team from the Teams screen. It takes a name and a team size, and you own whatever you create.

Before you start

Your account already owns two teams. Scoryboard makes them when you sign up, named after you. The Teams screen is never empty.

Add a team

  1. Open Teams in the sidebar. Select Add Team.

The Manage Teams screen with the Add Team button outlined.

  2. Read the note under the title. A team name must be unique, and it must not already belong to somebody else.

The empty Add Team dialog: Upload team's Avatar, Team name, Team size, two checkboxes and an Add button.

  3. Type a Team name.

The Add Team dialog with the Team name field outlined and filled in.

  4. Open Team size and choose one. Sizes run from 5 VS 5 to 11 VS 11.

The Team size list open, showing 5 VS 5 through 10 VS 10.

  5. Select Upload team's Avatar to add a crest. You can skip this and add one later.

The Add Team dialog with the Upload team's Avatar control outlined.

  6. Leave both checkboxes clear. They make two special kinds of team, and neither is what you want for an ordinary one.

The two checkboxes, Create a Dummy team and I don't want to own this team, both clear and outlined.

  7. Select Add.

The completed Add Team dialog with the Add button outlined.

  8. Find the new team at the foot of your list. You are its Owner.

The Manage Teams list with the new team's row outlined, showing 7 VS 7 and the Owner badge.

What you will see

Each row on the Teams screen carries the team's size, your role in it, and how many leaderboards, matches and members it has.

A new team has one member: you.

If it does not work

  • "This field is required" under Team size. Team size has no default. The 5 VS 5 you can see is placeholder text, not a choice. Open the list and pick one.

  • The name is refused. Somebody else already owns a team with that name. Choose a different one.

  • The crest will not upload. Use a JPG, GIF or PNG under 3MB.
