The Add Team dialog has two checkboxes. Each makes a team that behaves differently from an ordinary one. Both are set when you create the team and neither can be changed afterwards.
The two checkboxes
Open Teams, select Add Team, and fill in a name and a size. The two checkboxes sit under Team size.
Tick Create a Dummy team to make a placeholder opponent. A dummy team is not searchable and you cannot invite real players to it. Use one to set up a match against a side that is not on Scoryboard.
Find the dummy team in your own list. It carries a Dummy badge beside its size and your role.
Understand what everybody else sees. A dummy team belongs to you alone: anybody who opens its page is turned away.
Tick I don't want to own this team instead to make an unclaimed team. It belongs to nobody, it is not in your team list, and anybody who finds it can claim it.
What you will see
A dummy team is in your Teams list and in nobody else's. It does not come up in search.
An unclaimed team is the opposite. It is in nobody's Teams list, including yours, but search finds it. The only way back to one you have made is to search for it by name.
If it does not work
You cannot find the team you just made. If you ticked I don't want to own this team, it is not in your list by design. Search for it by name.
You cannot invite anybody to a dummy team. That is what a dummy team is. Create an ordinary team instead.
You ticked the wrong box. Neither setting can be changed after the team is created. Delete the team and make it again.
