You add people to a team from its Edit Team page. Only the Owner and Administrators can. There are three ways in, and they suit different situations.
Invite somebody by email
Open the team's Edit Team page and find TEAM PLAYERS. Select Add New Player.
Read the dialog. It offers three ways in, separated by "OR": an invitation link, your friend list, or a name typed in by hand.
Type a name, and their email address if you have it. The address is optional, and it is what turns the person into a real member rather than a name on the sheet.
Choose a Role. You can pick Player or Administrator.
Select Add Player. The person is on your team sheet straight away, but their invitation is still waiting. Their row shows a different icon from everybody else's until they accept it.
Invite by link
Open Add New Player again and select Generate invitation link.
Select Copy link, or one of the share buttons above it. Anybody who opens the link is asked whether they want to join your team.
Invite somebody already on your sheet
Find their row. A member you added by name only, with no email address, carries an Invite button of their own.
Select it, then Generate invitation link. This link is different from the team's: it belongs to that one row, so whoever opens it takes that place on the sheet.
What you will see
Somebody you invite by email is on the team immediately. The invitation only decides whether they have confirmed it.
A member with no email address stays a name on the sheet. They can be picked for a match, but no account is attached to them until somebody uses their invitation link.
If it does not work
"Select player from friend list" is empty. It reads "No options available". Use the name and email fields, or the invitation link, instead.
Administrator is refused. On the Free plan you cannot add team admins. See "Team roles - Owner, Administrator and Player".
There is no Add New Player button. You are a Player or a Fan on that team, not the Owner or an Administrator.
Somebody says the link will not let them in. They may have been blocked from the team. See "Removing a member, and blocking them".
