Team roles - Owner, Administrator and Player

What each team role can do, how to change somebody's role, and why adding an Administrator needs Pro.

Every member of a team holds one role. It decides what they can change.

What each role can do

  • Owner. Everything, including deleting the team. There is one Owner: whoever created the team, or whoever claimed it. You cannot hand the role to somebody else.

  • Administrator. Everything the Owner can do except delete the team. Shown as Admin on the member list.

  • Player. On the team sheet and pickable for a match. Cannot open the team's settings.

Change somebody's role

  1. Open the team's Edit Team page and read TEAM PLAYERS. Every member carries their role beside their name.

The Team players list showing Owner, Admin and Player badges against different members.

  2. Select the menu at the end of their row, then Edit. Their name can be changed here; their email address cannot.

The Edit Player dialog with the name field, a "Player email (cannot be changed)" field, a Role list and an Update button.

  3. Open Role and choose. There are two options.

The Role list open, showing Player and Administrator and nothing else.

  4. Select Update.

Adding an Administrator needs Pro

On the Free plan you cannot give anybody the Administrator role. Choosing it and saving raises a prompt instead.

The Team Limit Reached prompt over the Edit Team page, reading "Free plan users can not add team admins. Upgrade to Pro Membership to add admins."

Pro is free during the beta. The prompt has the upgrade on it.

The same prompt with the FREE Upgrade (Beta) button outlined.

What you will see

Your own row is marked (You) and has no menu, so you cannot change your own role.

The role list offers Player and Administrator only. Owner is not in it. A team changes hands by being claimed, not by being handed over - see "Claiming a team".

If it does not work

  • "Team Limit Reached" when you choose Administrator. You are on Free. Select FREE Upgrade (Beta), or add the person as a Player instead.

  • You cannot find Owner in the list. It is not there. Ownership cannot be transferred.

  • A member has no role badge. Their row was created outside the roles the app offers. Open their menu and set them to Player or Administrator.

  • You cannot open the menu on your own row. There is none. Ask another Administrator, or the Owner.
