Deleting a team

How to delete a team, what goes with it, and why only the Owner can.

Only the team's Owner can delete it. An Administrator sees the control and cannot use it.

Before you start

Deleting a team cannot be undone, and it takes the team's members, its record and its place in any leaderboard with it. Matches that have already been played are not deleted.

Delete a team

  1. Open the team's Edit Team page and scroll to the bottom. DELETE TEAM is the last card.

  2. Select Delete Team. Scoryboard asks you to confirm.

The Delete Team dialog reading "This action cannot be undone. This will permanently delete the team and remove all associated data.", with Cancel and Delete Team buttons.

  3. Select Delete Team again to go through with it, or Cancel to stop. The team disappears from your Teams list.

If you are not the Owner

An Administrator gets the same card with the button greyed out.

Ask the Owner to delete it, or leave the team alone.

What you will see

Deleting a team is confirmed. Removing a member is not - see "Removing a member, and blocking them" before you go near that menu.

If it does not work

  • Delete Team is greyed out. You are an Administrator, not the Owner. Only the Owner can delete a team.

  • You cannot reach Edit Team at all. You are a Player or a Fan on that team.

  • You deleted the wrong team. There is no undo. Create a new team and invite the members back.

  • You want to leave a team rather than delete it. Ask the Owner or an Administrator to remove you.
