Your friends list is the private list of people you can add to your teams. Nobody else sees it. Most of the people on it are names you typed in yourself, and they do not need a Scoryboard account.
What it is
Select Friends in the sidebar.
Read the list. Each row is one person, with Chat, Add To Team and a three-dot menu.
Select Add To Team on a row to put that person in one of your teams. Choose the team and the role, then select Add to Team.
The list works both ways. Adding somebody to a team from the Teams screen also adds them to your friends list, so you do not have to type their name again for the next team.
Two kinds of row
A row is either a name you typed or a real Scoryboard account, and the row tells you which.
A name you typed | A Scoryboard account | |
Marked | nothing beside the name | a small blue person beside the name |
Chat | greyed out | works |
Edit in the menu | works | greyed out - their details are theirs |
Remove in the menu | works | works |
A name you typed becomes an account row in one of two ways: you give it their email address and merge the two, or you send them a link and they claim the row themselves.
The Free limit that catches people out
On the Free plan, each friend can be in one of your teams only. Ask for a second and Scoryboard refuses.
The refusal also takes that person off your friends list. They stay in the team they were already in, but the row is gone from Friends. Add them again with Add Friend if you still want them there.
On Pro the same friend can be in as many of your teams as you like. Pro is free during the beta. The full list of Free limits is in "Every Free-plan limit, and the messages you will see".
If it does not work
Somebody disappeared from the list. You almost certainly hit the limit above. They are still in their first team. Add them again with Add Friend.
The team you want is not in the Select Team list. That person is already in it. The list only offers teams they are not in yet.
Chat is greyed out. That row is a name you typed, not a Scoryboard account. You can only chat to somebody who has one.
You cannot select Edit. That row is a real account. Only its owner can change their name and address.
Removing a friend removed them from a team. That is what it does, and it says so before it does it. There is no undo.
