Following someone keeps them in view. It is the same Follow button on a player, a team and a tournament, it takes one select, and nobody has to approve it.
Following is not friendship. It does not put anybody in your friends list and it does not put anybody in a team. See "What your friends list is and why teams depend on it" for that.
Follow someone
Open the page of the player, team or tournament you want. Use the search box at the top to find them.
Select Follow, beside the name.
The button changes to Unfollow and the Followers count goes up by one. That is the whole action - there is nothing to confirm.
A team page carries the same button in the same place.
So does a tournament.
See who you follow
Open your own profile and find the Following counter, next to Followers.
Select it. The window has a Players tab and a Teams tab, each with its own count.
Select Unfollow beside anybody you no longer want to follow. You can also do it from their own page, where the button now reads Unfollow.
What you will see
Tournaments are not in that window. The Following window covers players and teams only, and nothing else in Scoryboard lists the tournaments you follow - the Tournament screen shows only the ones you own. To stop following a tournament, go back to its page and select Unfollow there.
Following only goes one way. Following somebody does not make them follow you, and they are not asked.
Your own Followers counter opens the same kind of window for the people who follow you. It reads "Looks like you don't have any followers yet." until somebody does.
Following is on every plan. There is no limit and no Pro gate.
If it does not work
There is no Follow button. You are looking at your own profile. You cannot follow yourself. Your own teams and tournaments do carry one.
You cannot find a tournament you followed. There is no list of them. Open the tournament itself - its button will read Unfollow.
The count in the window does not match what you expected. It counts players and teams only, so a followed tournament is not in it.
You wanted to add them to a team instead. Following does not do that. Use Add To Team, on the same header or from your friends list.
They have not noticed. Following is silent. Nothing is sent to them.
