The match timer

It counts down from the match length. It starts when the match starts, and pausing does not eat into it.

The clock beside the tabs counts down. A 60 minute match starts at 60:00 and works towards zero.

  1. Find it at the right-hand end of the tab strip, next to the share button.

The timer button reading 48:00 with a pause mark, outlined.

  2. The same figure sits under the score.

The MATCH DETAILS card: the score above, the timer reading 48:00 below it, outlined.

  3. Select the clock to pause. It holds where it is, and the pause mark becomes a play arrow.

The timer button paused: a play arrow, and the figure beside it covered.

What you will see

It runs from when the match started, not from the kick-off time you set. If a match was due at 6:00 and actually started at 6:03, the clock counts its 60 minutes from 6:03.

Time spent paused does not count. Pause for ten minutes and full time moves ten minutes later. The match still gets its full length.

At zero the clock becomes END MATCH. It does not count past zero.

It is the same clock on every device. Anybody watching the match sees the same figure you do.

If it does not work

  • The clock reads less than you expect. The match started before you opened it. A match starts itself at its kick-off time.

  • You paused the clock and it is running again. The page was reloaded, which restarts a paused match. Pause it again.

  • There is no clock. The match has not started, or it has finished. Before kick-off you get START MATCH; afterwards you get nothing.

  • You can see the clock but not press it. You are not the Owner, an Administrator or the referee.
