Yellow and red cards, and how the final score is set

Book or send off a player from the feed - team first, then the player. The final score is whatever the counters say at full time, and then it locks.

Yellow Card and Red Card sit under the match feed, beside Player of Match and Comment.

Before you start

Only the team's Owner and an Administrator can issue a card - see "Starting, pausing and ending a match" for what everybody else sees. The match has to be running.

Book a player

  1. Go to FEED and select Yellow Card.

The four buttons under the feed - Yellow Card, Red Card, Player of Match, Comment - with Yellow Card outlined.

  2. Choose the team first. The player field stays greyed out until you do.

The Yellow Card window: Select team * with both crests, a greyed-out Player field reading Select Player, and a greyed-out Save button.

  3. Open Player and choose who to book. Either team's players are offered, so you can book an opponent.

The player list open in the Yellow Card window, showing the away team's players.

  4. Select Save. The card joins the feed with a yellow marker.

The feed entry reading "Mo issued Yellow Card to Dara KB", outlined, with a small yellow card beside it.

  5. A red card works the same way. Select Red Card instead.

The Red Card window, the same shape as the yellow one: Select team, then Player.

  6. The red card joins the feed with a red marker.

The feed with both cards on it, the red card entry outlined, so the two markers can be told apart.

How the final score is set

There is no final-score box to fill in. The score is the two counters, and whatever they read when the match ends is the result.

A finished match: the score, a trophy on the winning team, a WIN badge, and the notice "The match has ended and cannot be edited".

What you will see

Cards do not change the score. A card shows on the feed and in the card counts on the FACTS panel, and nowhere else.

A drawn match is fine. If the scores are level the card reads DRAW.

There are no penalty shoot-outs on an ordinary match. They belong to a tournament knockout, where a drawn tie has to produce a winner for the next round. A league or friendly match ends level and stays level.

The score locks at full time. Once the match is ended the counters are gone. Get the score right before you press END MATCH.

If it does not work

  • Select Player will not open. Choose the team first. That field is greyed out until you do.

  • The player you want is not listed. They are not in that team's lineup for this match.

  • You booked the wrong player. Ask whoever runs the team - a card can be corrected from the feed entry while the match is still running.

  • The buttons are not there. The match has not started, or has finished, or you are not the Owner or an Administrator.

  • You are looking for a penalty shoot-out. Set the tie up as a tournament knockout instead.
