Live viewers, and following a match from another device

The feed shows how many people are watching, and everybody's screen updates by itself. Nobody has to refresh.

Everybody watching a live match sees the same thing at the same time. Score a goal and it arrives on every screen at once.

Who is watching

  1. Open the match and look at the top of the FEED panel. The green mark counts who has the match open.

The FEED panel with a green ONLINE 1 pill outlined at the top right, beside VIEW KEYS.

  2. Anybody in either squad can open the same match on their own device. The count goes up, with nothing refreshed.

The same pill now reading ONLINE 2, outlined, after a second person opened the match.

  3. It goes down again when they close it.

Following from another device

Whoever is watching gets the whole match screen, read-only: the score, the clock and the feed. No counters, no card buttons, nothing to press.

The match as a team player sees it on their own device: the live score, the clock, and the online count, with none of the controls.

When the manager scores, their screen changes on its own.

The follower's screen a moment later: the score now 1-0, outlined, and the goal on the feed beneath it.

What you will see

Nobody needs to refresh. Goals, cards, commentary and the clock all arrive by themselves.

Anybody signed in can comment. A follower who cannot change the score can still add a line to the feed. See "The match feed and commentary".

The count is everybody with the match open. Not only your squad, which is why it can be higher than you expect.

Anybody with the link can watch. They do not need a Scoryboard account. The share link opens the match read-only for somebody who is not signed in. See "Inviting people, sharing a preview and the matches calendar".

Viewers who are not signed in are listed as Anonymous User. Select the online count to open the list of who is watching. Your own row is marked (You).

If it does not work

  • The count is not there. Give it a few seconds after the page loads.

  • Somebody says they cannot see the goal. Ask them to check their connection. The match reconnects on its own, so nobody needs to refresh - and refreshing a paused match restarts the clock.

  • The score on their screen is behind yours. Wait a moment. If it does not catch up, their connection has dropped.
