Building a match-day slideshow

Making a fullscreen slide show for a screen at your venue: slides, timings, and the seven kinds of content a slide can hold.

A slide show is a fullscreen page that turns its own slides. You build it here and put it on a screen at the venue.

Before you start

You need to be the Owner or an Administrator of the tournament. A slide show that shows a group, a bracket or your sponsors needs those to exist first.

Building the show

  1. Open your tournament, choose Presentation, then Slideshow.

The Presentation tab with Slideshow selected, showing the Slide shows card and the settings below it.

  2. Add Slideshow starts another one. A tournament can have more than one, and the count above the picker tells you how many you have.

The Slide shows card with Open Fullscreen and Add Slideshow, and Add Slideshow outlined.

  3. The picker says which show you are editing.

The slide show picker reading KB 15 Cup screen, with 1 total above it.

  4. Name the show. Active decides whether it plays at all. Show tournament name and Show current time control what sits around the slides.

The show's settings: its name, the three switches, and the background block below them.

  5. Set the background colour, the card colour and the opacity. Transparent drops the card background altogether.

The background controls: a theme colour, a cards colour, a Transparent switch and an opacity slider at 100%.

  6. Add a background image if you want one. Use 1280x720 pixels, up to 3MB.

The background image panel reading No image uploaded, with the Upload control outlined.

  7. Add Slide adds a slide. They play in the order they are listed, and you can drag them.

The Slides card heading with the Add Slide button outlined.

  8. Give each slide a title and a number of seconds. Active skips it without deleting it.

One slide: its title, a duration of 10, an Active tick, a Text component and a QR code component.

  9. Add content with the buttons under the slide. Every slide has its own row of them.

The seven component buttons outlined: Text, Group, Bracket, Sponsors, Ranking, QR code and Upcoming matches.

  10. Text takes up to 200 characters of your own. Ranking, QR code and Upcoming matches need nothing from you.

  11. Group and Bracket ask which one to show. Group also asks whether to show the table, the fixtures, or both.

A Group component with Group A chosen and the display set to Table and fixtures.

  12. Sponsors asks which sponsors go on the slide, and counts them.

A Sponsors component reading 2 sponsors selected.

  13. Choose Save. It refuses the whole show while any component is unfinished, and names the one that is.

A red panel reading Please fix the slideshow fields below before saving, and below it KB 15 Cup screen, slide 1, component 3 needs text.

What you will see

A tournament with no saved show still shows a draft called Slide show 1 with one empty Text slide. It is not saved until you press Save.

Each component has a width, set as a percentage. Two components at 50% sit side by side.

If it does not work

  • Save will not go through. Read the red list. A Text component with no text, a Group with no group, a Bracket with no bracket or a Sponsors with nothing picked will each hold up the whole show.

  • Sponsors offers nothing to pick. Add a sponsor first. Read Sponsors on your tournament to do that.

  • A slide never appears on screen. Check its Active tick, and the show's.

  • Your background image was refused. It is over 3MB.
