Chat is where you message a player or a squad without leaving Scoryboard. This article shows you the screen and tells you what Free covers.
Finding your chats
Open Chat in the sidebar. The screen has three parts: the sidebar, your Chats list, and the conversation you have open.
Read a row in the Chats list to see who it is with, the last message and when it arrived. A group also carries a Group tag.
Chat opens your most recent conversation on its own. Select any other row to switch.
Direct messages and groups
A conversation with one person is a direct message. The line under their name says Direct message.
A conversation with several people is a group. The line under its name says Group conversation, and the transcript opens with who created the group and who joined it.
What you will see
Your own messages sit on the right. Everybody else's sit on the left with their name above them. A tick beside your message means it was sent.
Chat on the Free plan
On Free you can start a conversation, create a group and send as many messages as you like. What you cannot do is read what other people send you in full.
An incoming message shows its first few characters and then stops. An Unlock with Pro button sits under it. Your own messages are always whole.
Select Unlock with Pro to see what Pro adds.
Pro is free during the beta. Nothing is charged for it.
If it does not work
Every message is cut short. You are on Free. See the section above.
A message will not send. Check your connection. Chat updates live, so a message that has not appeared has not reached us.
A conversation is missing. You may have removed it from your list. It comes back on its own when a new message arrives in it.
