Setting up your padel profile

Tick Padel in Sports and four padel fields appear. Your profile then has a second side, with its own bio, its own tiles and its own level.

Padel is a third kind of profile, beside Player and Referee. This article turns a football account into one that plays both.

You do not lose the football side. Your profile gets a second side, and a switch at the top to move between them.

Adding padel to your profile

  1. Open Profile settings and find Sports under Personal Details. Open the list.

The Sports list open on Profile settings, with Football ticked and Padel not.

  2. Tick Padel, then select outside the list to close it. Four padel fields appear straight away, under your football position.

Profile settings with Sports reading Football, Padel, and Best hand, Court position, Match type and Preferred time now on the form. Best hand is outlined and tinted.

  3. Choose your Best hand. It offers Left Handed and Right Handed, and it is the only one of the four marked required.

The Best hand list open, offering Left Handed and Right Handed.

  4. Choose Court position (Left side, Both sides or Right side), Match type (Competitive, Friendly or Both) and Preferred time (Morning, Afternoon or Evening). All three are optional.

  5. Look at Select your default profile. It now offers two, and the one you pick decides which side your profile opens on. Leave it on Football if you mostly play football.

The Select your default profile control, showing a Football pill and a padel pill.

  6. Select Save Changes. A second bio box, Padel Bio, appears in My Bio. Write it and save again.

The My Bio section after saving, with a Bio box and a Padel Bio box, the Padel Bio outlined.

Padel Bio only appears after that first save. If you tick Padel and go looking for it straight away, it is not there yet.

What your padel profile shows

Open your profile and select the padel side of the switch at the top. It is a different page, not your football page with different numbers.

  • LEVEL - your padel rating, and a chart of how it has moved.

  • Ten tiles. Matches, Win, Loss, Draw and W/L Ratio, then Win rate, Best hand, Court position, Match type and Preferred time. The last four are the answers you just gave.

  • TEAM RANK and TEAMS.

  • PADEL TOURNAMENTS, in place of the football Matches panel.

There is no Matches panel and no leaderboards table on this side. Those are football's.

Your bio is separate too. The padel side shows your Padel Bio, so it reads "No bio added" until you write one, even when your football bio is full.

Your level starts empty

  1. Look at the LEVEL panel. On a new padel profile it has no number in it - just the chart and "Play matches and see how your level changes".

The LEVEL panel on a new padel profile, showing Level Progress and a faded chart with no rating on it.

  2. Fill it in with the padel rating questionnaire. See The padel rating questionnaire.

  3. Check the four answers you gave have landed on your tiles.

The ten padel tiles, with Best hand reading Right Handed, Court position Left side, Match type Competitive and Preferred time Morning.

If it does not work

  • The padel fields are not there. Padel is not ticked in Sports. Nothing padel appears until it is.

  • There is no Padel Bio box. Save once. It appears after the first save, not when you tick the box.

  • Your profile still opens on football. That is what Select your default profile decides. Either change it, or select the padel side of the switch each time.

  • Four tiles read N/A. Court position, Match type and Preferred time are optional and Best hand is not enforced, so an empty field shows as N/A rather than stopping the save. Go back and fill them in.

  • Your level is blank. You have not done the rating questionnaire. See The padel rating questionnaire.

  • PADEL TOURNAMENTS is empty. It fills when you play in a padel tournament. Being added to one is done by the organiser, not from this page.
