Your padel level has to start somewhere. The questionnaire asks four short questions, suggests a range, and lets you choose from it.
What you pick is a starting point, not a verdict. Once you play matches against players who already have levels, PadelLevels adjusts your rating from your results.
Before you start
Padel has to be ticked in Sports on Profile settings. See Setting up your padel profile.
Write your bio afterwards, not before. Finishing the questionnaire clears both your Bio and your Padel Bio. It is a fault, not a setting, and there is no warning on screen.
Answering the questionnaire
Open Profile settings. Select Add Rating in the Complete The Padel Rating Questionnaire panel, above Basic Information.
Read the opening screen and select Get started. It takes about a minute.
Answer Have you played padel before? There are six answers, from "No, never" to "I play competitive matches, leagues or tournaments".
Answer the follow-up if you get one. Choosing "I play regularly" or the competitive answer adds a question about how long you have played, and the counter changes from 3 to 4.
Answer Have you played other racket sports? Tennis, squash or badminton all count, but none of them carries you far on its own.
Answer the movement and fitness question. It moves the suggested range a little, and it cannot move the ceiling your other answers set.
Read Your suggested range and select See the level cards.
Read the level cards and select This sounds like me on the one that fits. Each card carries a number, a name and a paragraph, then four lines on shot consistency, glass and defence, net play, and positioning and tactics. The cards stop at the highest level your answers allow.
Say how confident you are. There is no wrong answer and it changes nothing you can see.
Set your Player preferences - court position, match type and preferred time - or select Skip. These are the same three fields Profile settings carries.
Read your result and select Save and proceed. Select Run the rating again if you want to start over. Nothing is saved until you choose.
Self-rated, Provisional and Validated
The last screen shows three states, and you are in the first of them.
Self-rated - the level you just chose.
Provisional - once you have some match data, but not enough yet.
Validated - enough reliable match history for the rating to be trusted.
You do not move yourself between these. Playing matches against players with established levels is what moves you.
What you will see
Your level appears in the LEVEL panel on the padel side of your profile, with a chart under it. See Setting up your padel profile.
The panel on Profile settings is gone. The questionnaire is a once-per-account thing, and the way back in is Run the rating again before you save, not afterwards.
If it does not work
There is no Add Rating panel. Either Padel is not ticked in Sports, or you have a level already. The panel only shows while the account has none.
Your bio has gone. Saving the questionnaire clears Bio and Padel Bio. Write them again from Profile settings; they will stay this time.
Next will not do anything. Choose an answer first. Every question needs one, or use Skip.
The level you wanted is not on a card. The cards stop at the highest level your answers allow. Higher levels unlock by playing matches, not by choosing them here.
You picked the wrong level. Select Run the rating again on the last screen, before Save and proceed.
Your level has not moved since. It moves on results against players who already have levels. How long that takes is not shown anywhere in the app.
