Where the bell is, what the red number means, and how to mark a notification read or delete it.

Scoryboard tells you what has happened on your teams through the bell in the sidebar, beside your name.

Open your notifications

  1. Find the bell next to your name at the top of the sidebar. The red number is how many notifications you have not read yet.

    The top of the Scoryboard sidebar: a round avatar, the name Pia KB, and a bell outlined in red carrying a red badge with the number 11.

  2. Select the bell. Your notifications open in a window, newest first.

    The Notifications window, titled "Notifications (11)", with a "Mark all as read" link at the top right. Six notifications are listed, each on a pale blue background, about a match won, a match started, a match scheduled, a liked comment, a reply and a new comment.

  3. Scroll down the window for older ones. Scoryboard loads ten at a time and fetches more as you reach the bottom.

  4. Select a notification to open whatever it is about. A match notification opens the match, a team notification opens the team. Opening it marks it read.

What you will see

A notification you have not read has a pale blue background. One you have read is white.

Scoryboard notifies you when:

  • somebody invites you to a team, or joins a team you run;

  • somebody follows you, or follows a team you own;

  • somebody adds you to their friend list;

  • somebody makes you an Administrator of a leaderboard;

  • somebody comments on your leaderboard, replies to your comment or likes it;

  • a match you are in is scheduled, started or finished.

Every one of these is emailed to you as well. See The emails Scoryboard sends you.

Mark one as read

  1. Find the notification. Each row has two buttons on the right: a double tick and a bin.

    One notification reading "KB Notify FC won their latest match!", on a pale blue background. A red outline surrounds the two buttons at the right of the row: a double tick and a waste bin.

  2. Select the double tick. The row turns white and the tick turns blue.

    The same notification, "KB Notify FC won their latest match!", now on a white background, with the double tick outlined in red and coloured blue.

Mark everything as read

  1. Select Mark all as read at the top right of the window.

  2. Every notification turns white. The count disappears from the title and from the bell, and the link goes away because there is nothing left to mark.

    The Notifications window titled simply "Notifications", with no count and no "Mark all as read" link. Every notification is on a white background.

Delete one

Select the bin on the row. It is the second of the two buttons, outlined in the third picture above.

Deleting is immediate and cannot be undone. There is no confirmation and no way to bring a notification back. If you only want it out of the way, use the tick instead.

When you have none

An account with nothing waiting shows a tick and No notifications.

The Notifications window on an account with nothing in it: a grey circle with a tick, the heading "No notifications", and the line "You're all caught up! Check back later for new updates."

If it does not work

  • The bell has no number on it. You have read everything. The bell still opens the list.

  • You deleted the wrong one. It is gone. Nothing in Scoryboard can restore a deleted notification.

  • You are not getting notified about something you expected. Check that you are actually in the team's line-up, or an Administrator of the leaderboard. Scoryboard notifies the people a change affects, not everybody on a team.

  • You want notifications on your phone. Scoryboard does not send push notifications. It emails you instead.
