Scoryboard replaces swear words with asterisks wherever people can read them. The Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy are linked at the foot of every page. Everything we hold about you is in Profile settings, and you can delete all of it yourself.
Language filtering
The filter runs when you save, not while you type. A swear word in a comment, a chat message, a team name, a bio or a friend's name is stored with asterisks in place of its letters, and that is what everybody sees, you included. There is no warning and nothing is refused.
Type your comment and select Comment. The word appears as asterisks, one for each letter. The rest of the sentence is untouched.
A posted comment cannot be edited or deleted, so write a new one if you need to. A chat message can be edited or deleted. See Replying, forwarding, reacting, editing and deleting.
The filter does not catch everything, and it works on English words. If somebody is abusive in chat, report the message. See Leaving, deleting and reporting.
Terms and privacy
You accepted the Terms and the Privacy Policy when you created your account. Both are linked at the foot of every page, signed in or out.
Scroll to the foot of any page.
Select Privacy Policy or Terms of Service. Each opens on scoryboard.com.
What we store
Your personal details are the ones you gave us at sign-up, and you can change all but one of them in Profile settings.
Open Profile settings from your name in the sidebar and read Personal Details: first name, last name, gender, date of birth, sports, preferred position and email. The tick box below them is your consent to marketing email.
Change what you need to and select Save Changes. The email address is greyed out. It is the address the account was created with, and only support can change it. See Why you are not receiving our emails.
Beyond these, Scoryboard keeps what you do in the app: your photo and banner, your bio, the teams you are on, your matches and the statistics they produce, your comments and ratings, your chat messages, who you follow, and how many people viewed your profile.
Deleting your account removes it at once. Rows you left on other people's teams keep your name but lose your email address. See Deleting your account, and why an account may be disabled.
If it does not work
A word was masked and it is not a swear word. The filter matches letters, not meaning. Reword the sentence.
A swear word got through. The list is not complete. Report the message if it is abusive.
You want a copy of your data or a change to your email. Write to us with the address on your account. See Getting help and contacting support.
